The Chris Ruth Centre has been fortunate to have received funding at the start of the year from New Zealand Community Trust for a Rendever Virtual Reality set for the Chris Ruth centres to share.
The centres have two week blocks on rotation with the VR system. The staff have provided regular updates and important feedback regarding how the people we support engage with VR.
The Chris Ruth Centre has been used as a pilot study for Rendever Virtual Reality in New Zealand, with it being widely used in the aged care sector with positive results, it is new to the disability care sector. Within Chris Ruth we have seen positive interactions within the first six months.
