    To give everyone at the Chris Ruth Centre a refreshing break over the summer, we have an annual shutdown. This year the dates for the Christmas shutdown are: Last day – Friday 20 December 2024 – 12 midday finish First day back – Monday 20 January 2025

    Ice Skating

    Isaak went ice skating recently with his friends. Adam (man with the hat) introduced himself and offered to take Isaak around the arena a few times. Isaak appeared to have a wonderful time, Adam as offered to meet up with him again at ices skating for another round of speed and fun.

    This lovely lady introduced herself to Melissa as Jenny. Melissa had just finished her work placement at Paper Plus Hornby. They had a lovely chat about the things Melissa likes. Jenny asked Melissa if she would like a coffee? “Melissa replied yes please” Jenny purchased Melissa a coffee and they parted as new found friends.

    THREE WHEELCHAIR VANS STOLEN

    With three wheelchair vans stolen in the past three weeks (five since last October), this is very disheartening and takes away a lot of opportunities for the people we support. Read more on RNZ … We are very saddened that we have had our vans stolen and appreciate any help you are able to offer.

    We have recently had Maori Language Week and embraced this to the best of our ability – with Te Reo, Waiata, games, quiz and wearing the korowai – Ngā mihi, The Chris Ruth Centres.
