Last week the Court Theatre brought their travelling show, He Kura Kōrero, to Hoon Hay. The story follows three collectors who travel the world gathering treasures, and discover the gift of te reo Māori along the way. It’s a musical and theatrical exploration of te reo Māori, showing how children and adults alike can use and treasure the language in everyday life.

The show ran during Te Wiki o te Reo Māori (Māori Language Week) 2026, from Monday 14 September to Sunday 20 September, giving us a good opportunity to celebrate the language.

The Court Theatre’s travelling shows are always popular with our Centres. The cast were engaging, and the people we support enjoyed the performance and getting photos with the actors afterwards.
